Attention Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder (AD/HD).

WHY:
About 7 percent of school-age children have been diagnosed with AD/HD, a serious
medical condition that can profoundly disrupt mood and behavior. The disorder
also affects tens of thousands of adults like Knight. Without proper medical
help, studies show, sufferers are at a greater risk for substance abuse, teen
pregnancy, and academic problems.
With
the new school year approaching, the
National Consumers League and ADDitude
are launching a national education campaign on AD/HD that will include a series
of public service radio announcements featuring Knight and a Web site offering
consumers accurate, up-to-date information about the disorder. Note to
producers: B-roll of "The Brady Bunch" will be available.
