Fraud alert: car-buying scams on the rise

Consumers in the market for a used car this spring should be on guard against unscrupulous sellers looking to take them for a ride. In response to an increase in consumer complaints to the National Consumers League’s Fraud Center is warning consumers that, with the arrival of the upcoming peak car-buying season, comes increased risk of falling victim to a scam.

Labor, consumer, environmental groups call on Congress, White House to bolster worker protections

As states roll back worker rights, advocates from a diverse group of organizations have gathered to commemorate the 100th anniversary of an historic fire that took the lives of 146 workers and call on Congress, the White House, and others, to bolster modern-day worker protections.

NCL supports the Air Passenger Bill of Rights Act of 2011

The National Consumers League today announced its support for the Air Passenger Bill of Rights Act of 2011, new legislation that will provide some very basic rights and increased comfort, including food, water, comfortable cabin temperature, and access to restrooms, while a plane is delayed on the ground.
